About Me


Drew is originally from New Orleans and works to coordinate a high-school classroom in which students can ask questions, think critically about their environment and community, and gain a greater understanding of the world around them through the lens of trans-disciplinary curriculum and inquiry. He has taught in multiple schools in Southern California including Azusa, Redondo Beach, Cerritos, Ontario, Corona-Norco, and Huntington Beach. 


Drew holds a Masters of Arts, Education from Claremont Graduate University, a Masters of Business Administration, Global Business from the University of Redlands, and a Bachelor of Science, Environmental Science from the University of California, Riverside. In addition, Drew conducted marine biology research in the Turks & Caicos Islands, and is a Fulbright Scholar (Viet Nam). In the the summer of 2013, he taught in Kolkata, India on a second Fulbright through the U.S. State Department and American Councils. 

Coming from a long line of teachers, Drew is no stranger to education and has spent many years working with students to achieve their goals, dreams, and aspirations. Prior to teaching, Drew worked for Wells Fargo, Target, Borders, and General Electric. In these roles, Drew was responsible for training, underwriting, managing operations, and planning. Drew’s varied background in operations, training, distribution, and mortgage provide the perfect foundation for teaching. 

Drew is the primary science teacher of English Language Learners and enjoys the challenges and rewards of teaching science to ELLs. Drew is passionate about education and provides a real-world approach to teaching. His classes include Biology, Earth Science, and AP Environmental Science. Drew is the recipient of a Fulbright-Hayes fellowship, the Peter Lincoln Spencer fellowship, a Robert Noyce fellowship, and enjoys photography, the beach, cycling, hiking, reading, and traveling. He is an avid fan of the LA Galaxy soccer team.
